Freeman Bus Lines is looking for a reliable and responsible School Bus Driver to join our team in East Northumberland, Ontario. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school, maintaining a clean and organized bus, and communicating effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students to and from school, following established routes and schedules.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations, and maintain a safe driving record.
- Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of the bus and report any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students while on the bus, including maintaining order and discipline.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus, including regular cleaning and disinfecting.
- Attend regular training sessions and meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class B or C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and vulnerable sector screening.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions.
- Ability to manage and maintain a clean and organized bus.
- Flexibility to work split shifts.
- Previous experience driving a school bus is an asset but not required.
