Why Drive Yellow?

“I love driving children because they are easy to manage and quick to learn and follow the instructions on a safe journey on a school bus. My weekends are free to enjoy with my family and friends and I get decent extra pay for this part-time job to complete my projects. Instructors were knowledgeable and great to teach me safe driving practices, no doubt I will recommend my friends, stay-at-home mothers and other part-timers to look at this opportunity to serve the community”

“The rewards are many, good days outweigh the bad. An unexpected dandelion or a flower from mum’s garden, a smile and a laugh can all make your day.

I drive in a small town, the kind where everybody knows everybody, so it’s not unusual to be driving 2 or 3 generations, over the course of  your driving career. It’s nice to see how your students have progressed.”

“I have been getting paid to meet some fantastic kids, teens and adults, see lots of areas and places I’d never been before and a better knowledge of places I have been.  I would have laughed if someone had said I would be able to drive a school bus, but I can, I do and I love it.”

“Rutherflo isn’t just a place to work, it’s a place to feel at home. It’s a place where coworkers become family and friends and a place to feel support, kindness and respect. The company works as a team in a positive, efficient manner.”

“After I retired, I soon realized, I needed to be more active.  I saw an advertisement for a school bus driver, it was 2 hours of work in the morning and 2 hours of work in the afternoon and summers off.  I have been driving for 20 years and I still enjoy it every day.”

I was looking for a secondary income and a friend of a friend sort of suggested that there was an opening at STC. I’ve always enjoyed driving so I decided I’d give it a try and have been loving it ever since. I did the training and that was really my decision point. The training was very thorough and the trainers were very knowledgeable. STC has been a very friendly company and the staff are very knowledgeable and they’re very helpful. I couldn’t ask for a better place to work.”
